Who are we?

The Rencontre Africaine pour la Défense des Droits de l’Homme (RADDHO) is a national NGO based in Dakar, working for the protection and promotion of human rights at national, regional and international level. The organisation also campaigns for the implementation of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and for compliance with international human rights treaties and conventions. RADDHO ensures that the independence of the judiciary and a fair trial for all are respected. It conducts studies, investigations and analyses to provide emergency warnings and prevent conflicts.

    RADDHO is committed to ensuring respect for human life and dignity, and to promoting the full exercise of citizenship

  • Defending victims’ rights:

    The organisation provides legal and judicial assistance to victims, particularly vulnerable people (women, children, refugees, etc.).

  • Advocacy and awareness-raising:

    RADDHO carries out advocacy and awareness-raising activities to ensure that human rights are respected, particularly in the areas of civil and political liberties, economic, social and cultural rights, and the rights of future generations.

    The organisation works on conflict prevention, mediation and conflict resolution, particularly in West Africa.

  • Fight against impunity:
    RADDHO fights against impunity and promotes justice, notably through the International Criminal Court

RADDHO’s vision is of an African continent where human rights are fully respected, where citizens enjoy their fundamental rights, where conflicts are prevented and resolved peacefully , and where every individual can live in dignity, justice and peace
